Vorwort

C.V. Excerpt
[REDACTED] over the ongoing crisis in the Bolivian conflict. At age six the Cuentas family, together with ███████, fled to the United States of America. P. Cuentas completed High School but never attended college. Cuentas adopted the name “Paige” for herself after facing various forms of discrimination due to her South American ethnicity, which is not optically apparent, from her peers. In future Vitaes, Cuentas often claimed to be born on U.S. Soil. Cuentas involved herself in several crimes during her high school years, with six cases of theft and assault being dismissed and two brought to completion, against her favor. She was sentenced first to a year of juvenile detention on probation for a case of assault against a police officer, the second sentence following shortly thereafter, adding three months of juvenile detention for the theft of several mobile telephones in a ████████████ mall. Before the sentence could be realized, Cuentas was found breaking several of the probation terms including contact to known criminals and failing drug tests of several illicit substances. After her time in juvenile detention center Cuentas, aged 19, applied for Basic Training with the ROTC but was declined due to her criminal record and apparent lack of discipline.
She instead succesfully applied to manage a local █████████ in her hometown ████████████. Cuentas was fired but not charged after a scheme to illegaly siphon money from the store to herself and her friends was discovered by the store owner. Cuentas again applied for military service, this time using a faked CV and forged documents making her appear as U.S. Citizen. Her attempt succeeded and she was accepted for BCT with the US Army in ███████████████, New Mexico. Cuentas to this point lived with her family, only moving out after being accepted.
It is unclear why the documents were not discovered as forgery or sufficiently tested against internal records, despite her not hiding the many controversies surrounding her person. Upon questioning, ██████████ insists the system was dysfunctional and inaccessible at the time. Inspection of the internal database systems however revealed no such possibility. Investigation found rumors in ████████████ and among other recruits that ██████████ received personal favours from Cuentas in order for her to skip the validation processes and/or manipulate records. This lead to a double file on P. Cuentas with identical CVs except for the birth and early youth. The investigation could not clarify whether ██████████ intentionally bypassed and manipulated the records, and if so whether she received favors of sexual nature or otherwise. However, Cuentas’ performance to this point has been satisfactory and it was decided against terminating her training. She exceled particularly in handling firearms and showed great interest in explosives, her physical fitness was adequate. Dissatisfactory were her attitude towards safety and comraderie aswell as a general disregard for authority, although neither of these negatively affected her performance.
Cuentas negatively stood out in an incident involving another recruit who accused her of sexual harassment. According to R. █████, Cuentas got into an argument with her in the common barracks when she suddenly pushed her down on her bed and attempted to kiss her. █████ tried to fend off Cuentas but failed. She described Cuentas not only tried to kiss her on the lips but also licked her lower cheekbone and neck, furthermore calling the experience traumatizing. Cuentas denied all wrongdoing and other recruits testified in her favor. Still, for the rest of her training she was seperated from other recruits to prevent such incidents from occuring again.
Cuentas completed BCT with the recommendation to pursue a military career with the US Army, ████████████
Psychological Profile

✓ GREEN | ||
o BLUE | ||
Summary: | The assessment shows a stable psyche with no apparent disorders, however Cuentas shows reckless behaviour and often severely underestimates risk factors in her involvement. | |
Recommendation: | Cuentas can be used in all environments, though supervision is recommended at all times, especially when civilian collaterals are to be avoided. Transferring her to a different specialist role is advised. |
Cuentas was referred to re-assessment on ██████████ due to worries of her superior that she might go rogue when confronted with opportunities of opposing forces. This is particularly attributed to her frequent display of disobedience and anti-authoritan attitude. When confronted, Cuentas frequently responds that she does not like “anyone to tell [her] what to do!”, a problematic attitude for enlisted soldiers. However, she theoretically accepts the chain of command and understands its purpose. In the interviews her viewpoints were coherent and her rebellious behaviour can be attributed to more of an interpersonal conflict than a general tendecy to disobedience. Cuentas has previously shown to be able and willing to follow plans that she agrees with and to an extend also plans she disagrees with, but struggles with ideas and behaviours that she sees as against her nature or unpgramatic, particularly waiting orders that she perceives as limiting her potential. In engagement situations, Cuentas often is reported to act ‘reckless’. Upon confrontation, Cuentas explains that she knows about the possibility of her death but does not view it as a deterrent to action, stating she gave up the “priviledge of fear of death” when she enlisted. Her death in action would be perceived as heroic, she insists, and thus no death to fear. While this view is arguably concerning for an institution dealing with high-risk situations that wants to keep their conscripts alive and well, it has no pathological nature or problematic personality trait associated with it. Cuentas also has a special liking towards destruction. According to her, destruction is the first step in creation. Her preferred method of destruction are explosives, in accordance with her assigned duties in the Special Forces as an explosive specialist. While her knowledge and passion may seem like a good fit, her attitude to destruction including potential collateral damage, damage to the Forces’ reputation and high-profile threat levels can endanger both her comrades and civilians. Transferring Cuentas to a different specialist role should be considered, if the circumstances allow.
